Wednesday, April 17, 2024: PRIDE March, Come Sing for the Interfaith Pride Service,

Wednesday, April 17, 2024: Come Sing with our choir for the Interfaith Pride Service on June 2, 2024

Beloved Community Members:

Last year several members of Emmaus (Marcie, Kay, David), joined members of other faith communities and sang at the Interfaith Pride Service -- and we can join again this year! Here's a note from Gage Purdy, Music Director of the Unitarian Church here in Santa Rosa - and a fabulous song leader. I encourage anyone who has the time and inclination to join the choir and sing at this wonderful event on June 2nd. Here's the note:

We're thrilled to invite you to be a part of our interfaith choir for the upcoming Pride Service hosted at UUCSR! This is an incredible opportunity for us to come together as a diverse community and celebrate pride in all its forms through the power of music.

We will provide sound files and sheet music for all songs to facilitate individual practice and rehearsals can be attended in-person or over Zoom. (See below for the schedule.) Even if you are not able to attend all of the rehearsals, recordings of rehearsals will be posted online for viewing after rehearsal to help you learn your music on your own - Kyle Pedersen

Song: We Walk in Love - Deanna Witkowski

Rehearsal Dates:

Thursday, April 25th, 6-7PM (In-person/Zoom rehearsal)

Thursday, May 16th,  6-7PM (In-person/Zoom rehearsal)

Thursday, May 23rd, 7-8 PM ( In-person/Zoom rehearsal)

Thursday, April 25th, 7-8 PM ( In-person rehearsal - with staging and AV)

Rehearsal Location: 547 Mendocino Avenue, Santa Rosa, CA 95401

At UUCSR, we're committed to creating a safe and inclusive space for all choir members, and we welcome singers of all backgrounds and skill levels. If you're interested in joining us, please RSVP by April 24th so we can ensure we have enough materials prepared for everyone.

Let's come together to spread love, acceptance, and pride through the joy of music! If you have any questions or need further information, don't hesitate to reach out.

With joy and excitement,

---

And another thing: Last year an interfaith audience met for an inspiring celebration of all our families, friends and allies ion the Queer Community. It was wonderful and we plan on doing it again this year - the day after the Pride March in Santa Rosa. Here's a brief outline we used last year. It will be much the same this year.
