Monday, April 29, 2024: Yes, oh yes, it's still possible to taste the natural God-given sweetness in every cloud in the sky

Final Part of the David Whyte poem studied at the Emmaus Retreat Carmel April 17 – 20.

This is our Saturday Morning Read (Last Part -  5)

Yes, oh yes, it's still possible to taste

the natural God-given sweetness

in every cloud in the sky,

in every little you eat,

in the breath that you take,

in every hand that you touch,

in every day that you wake,

in every tear that you shed,

in every voice still waiting to call you,

in every once solid, immovable door,

now calling you through; and in every

single blessed moment turning

to the next.

It's still possible to fully understand

you have always been the place

where the miracle has happened:

that you have been since your birth

the bread given and the wine lifted,

the change witnessed and

the change itself,

that you have been all along,

a goodness that can continue

to be goodness to itself

It's still possible in the end

to realize why you are here

and why you have endured,

and why you might have suffered

so much, so that in the end,

you could witness love, miraculously

arriving from nowhere, crossing

bravely as it does, out of darkness,

from that great and spacious stillness,

inside you,

to the simple

light-filled life being said

ANNOUNCEMENT #1: Garden Work Morning at Knox/Presbyterian

May 11th from 9-11

Announcement from michelle higgs of Knox/Thanksgiving

Hello Emmaus! The community garden will be having another garden work day on

May 11th from 9-11.  I am hoping to extend that to noon but we will see if we get everything done.  We plan on having snacks - and we're very nice people!

Below is a list of jobs that we hope to finish.

* Finish digging out three beds

* Demolish three beds

* Level out the ground on 5 beds

* Put together 7 garden beds

Between the gardeners, Knox/TLC, and Emmaus we should hopefully get everything completed and ready to be planted.  It would be great if some folks from Emmaus could help us.  Also, if anyone is interested in gardening with us please let me know.  We have beds available for rent.

Question: Should we have an Emmaus booth in Old Courthouse Square on June 1st for a few hours after the PRIDE Parade? It costs $150 for the both. And of course members of our beloved community to share their stories.
