994: Linda's creche and lots and lots of links. Don't miss them!

Day 994: Monday, December 5, 2022

From Linda: This is a photo from 5 years ago that popped up.

"The funny thing is, my dear childhood friend Nan and I each bought a creche when she was here 10 years ago. Since then we have shared them back and forth - which is why some pieces may be missing..." - Linda Wildman

But we get the idea.

Dear Lord, I have swept and I have washed but

still nothing is as shining as it should be

for you. Under the sink, for example, is an

uproar of mice — it is the season of their

many children. What shall I do? And under the eaves

and through the walls the squirrels

have gnawed their ragged entrances — but it is the season

when they need shelter, so what shall I do? And

the raccoon limps into the kitchen and opens the cupboard

while the dog snores, the cat hugs the pillow;

what shall I do? Beautiful is the new snow falling

in the yard and the fox who is staring boldly

up the path, to the door. And still I believe you will

come, Lord: you will, when I speak to the fox,

the sparrow, the lost dog, the shivering sea-goose, know

that really I am speaking to you whenever I say,

as I do all morning and afternoon: Come in, Come in.

+ Mary Oliver

Dear Sisters and Brothers: Here are links to several celebrations and to Diarmuid's conversation with us. I've edited the videos to enhance the sound where it's possible and to "chapterize" Diarmuid's conversation with us into shorter bites. There are also links to many scripts we've used in the past as a resource for creating future liturgies as well as a source for prayers and poems you may want to share at home during meals with family and friends. All of these videos and scripts are on our shared Google Drive so everyone has access to the videos and written resources.
