A Contagion of Hope

Christ Our Light!
Your light rises in our darkness and anxiety. We breathe in and out and feel your presence. We are grateful to know you are present with us as we walk the road of faith. Your powerful closeness to us transforms our fear into hope. We are learning to be unafraid.
May we join with our Holy Father, Francis as he calls for a “contagion of hope from heart to heart” during his Easter message. He said "There is no magic formula that makes problems vanish. No, the resurrection of Christ is not that. Instead, it is the victory of love, a victory that does not bypass suffering and death, but passes through them, opening a path in the abyss, transforming evil into good: this is the unique hallmark of the power of God.

The risen Jesus came forth from the grave still bearing the marks of his crucifixion and let us turn our gaze to him that he may heal the wounds of an afflicted humanity."

Give our Emmaus community wisdom of heart and a new fearlessness that we may work for the common good and celebrate the gift of each person’s human dignity - each person's spark of the Divine. Let us listen deeply to each person in the community in order to understand their struggles and their joys. Let us also listen attentively to each person we meet.
May the fire of love, energy and resilience burn within our hearts so that we may give witness to the mystery of resurrected life among us and within us.
Amen
