762: Easter 2022 we penetrate the door and enter the abode of the living Buddha and the living Jesus
Day 762: Easter Sunday, April 17, 2022
we penetrate the door and enter the abode of the living Buddha and the living Jesus
Jesus died. But that was not the final word. What happened? Here is how Thich Nhat Hanh (1926-2022), the Vietnamese Zen Master and ecumenical peace activist, comprehends it:
When we understand and practice deeply the life and teachings of Buddha or the life and teachings of Jesus, we penetrate the door and enter the abode of the living Buddha and the living Jesus. . .
Through your daily life, you can help Jesus or Buddha continue. You only need to walk in mindfulness, making peaceful, happy steps on our planet. Breathe deeply and enjoy your breathing.
Be aware that the sky is blue and that birds’ songs are beautiful. Enjoy being alive and you will help the living Jesus and the living Buddha continue for a long, long time.
And here is how nature guides us —
Let us end with “Hail Thee, Festival Day” an ancient hymn with music by Ralph Vaughan Williams (1872-1958). He was an atheist who once commented that there was no reason an atheist couldn’t compose a great hymn!
HAIL THEE, FESTIVAL DAY (SALVE FESTA DIES)
Ralph Vaughan Williams
May this be a blessed and peaceful day for you and those you love.

Sean Penn interview with Lawrence O’Donnell from MSNBC
Oscar-winning actor Sean Penn was in Ukraine with a documentary crew and met with Volodymyr Zelenskyy on the day before Vladimir Putin invaded Ukraine. Penn, whose relief organization CORE is helping Ukrainian refugees in Poland, says seeing Zelenskyy rise to the leadership challenge and unite Ukraine in this fight is “one of the great privileges that anybody could ever have.”
