447 Love! Radiate it! send waves into the hearts of those who seem unable to make sense of it.

Day 447 Sunday, June 6th, 2021

Think in terms of love. Radiate it, send waves into the hearts of those who seem unable to make sense of it. I'm not talking religion, I'm talking humanity

When you focus on the negative realities in your own part of the world, think in terms of love. Not despair, not anger, not revenge, not bitterness.

A cartoon in Time magazine a few years ago showed Satan (horned and tailed and trident-in-hand) scratching his head and thinking,

"What do I do with those who are here in Hell because they ate meat on Friday, and that rule has just been changed?"

I have sympathy for the wretch: what is he to do with those people who now deny the whole theory of sin and hell and punishment for sexual abnormalities, and heresy and the whole barrow-full of things to do with LGBTQIA, and rejection of non-whites and even of religion itself?

Sympathy, be gone! And in this wee essay I just want to have a fresh look at how life might be apprehended, grasped, understood – and misunderstood – in the light and darkness of COVID-19 and other world developments.

And no, don't click your computer just yet, please: I am not speaking from Mt Sinai, I am offering only a thinking person's comments on the world that I think might set you free to think freely on your own responses to the situations as are.

Captain Boyle in Sean O'Casey's 'Juno and the Paycock' opines that "the whole world is in a state o' crisis!" That was close to a century ago. Humbly I suggest, roam your thoughts around the globe, start from where you are. I have an idea that the whole world is yes, in a state of "crisis", but is at the same time going through a slow but determined change into a healthier place, despite the many selfish despots now dictating democracy!"

No negativity. Just love."What am I offering? This: When you focus on the negative realities in your own part of the world, think in terms of love. Not despair, not anger, not revenge, not bitterness.

Think in terms of love. Radiate it, send waves into the hearts of those who seem unable to make sense of it. I'm not talking religion, I'm talking humanity. Whether you choose to frame it within the terms of your own religion doesn't matter, so long as you are open, open, open.

We have far too much of these bloody Hindus, these bloody Muslims, these bloody Christians, these bloody whites, these bloody blacks, etc etc.

Dear reader, make a huge effort to focus on the world that touches you, and then fix your attention on it with love. That is the very best you can manage. No negativity. Just love.

PS: Some tend to dismiss the sending out of positive waves to people as another of these gimmicks post-moderns have thought up. But every lover who addresses her/his beloved does exactly that, whether in thought word or deed.

It is in the same league as morphic resonance - the idea of interconnections between organisms and of collective memories within species" which accounts for phantom limbs, how dogs know when their owners are coming home, and how people know when someone is staring at them. Morphic resonance is what we do when we pray for one another. So be at peace. God bless.
